English 4, Post 1, 'A country I would like to visit'

Hello everybody!

I would like to start by saying how difficult it is for me to choose just one country I would like to go to, because I really dream of travelling around Europe. 

However, for many years I have been thinking that I would like to work and study in Italy or Switzerland, once I have finished my university degree. I love Switzerland, and if I had the opportunity to work there, I would obviously take it. I admire how organised, disciplined and hard-working they are, but it scares me a bit how demanding and competitive it can be to live and work with the Swiss. Also, they are cold and serious people, and perhaps for someone who has lived practically all his life in Latin America it can be quite a culture shock.

In general, I would like to live in Italy for a while and have the opportunity to visit the northern countries, such as Iceland, Norway and Sweden. It fascinates me to think that with a train trip you can cross whole countries, see ancient buildings, their churches and museums, picturesque cities and beautiful landscapes worthy of fantasy movies. And the food, I swear I would travel just to try new preparations. I think it is very enriching to travel to other countries because of the amount of new things you learn every day, having the possibility to get to know another culture, customs and people whose reality is different from yours. Oh and for trekking, I would really love to have the possibility to walk the trails and mountains of Italy.
