English 4, Post 8 'English Language challenges'
Hello everyone, today I am going to tell you a little bit about my experience learning English.
At school I didn't have English teachers as such, only translators. My experience was horrible, since the learning method was through the translation of texts, so it was very difficult for me. In addition, the teacher used to give grades based on a game in which she forced us to go out to the blackboard and compete with our classmates. I hated English classes. So when I got to college I was terrified, I didn't want to go into the classroom for fear of making a fool of myself. So English one I passed with poor attendance and no participation. In English two I realized that the atmosphere was much more relaxed than I had imagined, so I attended all my classes and participated a lot.
My best experience was taking English three. By far. I was very motivated with my course in general, so I made it a point not to miss classes, wrote my blogs as soon as they were available, participated in classes, and even downloaded Duolingo. I started recognizing words when I watched movies or series and that encouraged me.
This semester I am taking English four, and unfortunately I have not managed to be very engaged; I have a lot of classes, I feel exhausted and down all the time (I feel like the last two semesters have gone on forever) and the class schedule is very uncomfortable since in the afternoons I get together with my project group to work.
As for the blog, I can say that I like it a lot. I like that from time to time I have to write about things unrelated to the career, and I honestly really enjoy choosing the right image for each of the entries.
I have a lot to learn about English (in all aspects), but I think the most important thing is that I have lost my fear and feel more interested in communicating or understanding simple sentences in English. I have even made an effort to recognize and learn new expressions when I watch series. Before I didn't pay attention to these things. I would like to take up Duolingo and the books I used to learn, and if all goes well, take other English courses.
I use English because I need to read documents and books that are not available in Spanish. I try to read as much as I can in this language, but when I'm against the clock I usually resort to the translator :(
So I don't use it much, but I am aware of how important it is to improve my English level.
Thank you very much for reading and thank you very much Professor René, for being one of the best teachers I have ever had. 💜💜

Checked. Thank you very much, Melissa, for caring about your language education!
